We now have grass in places and have been able to do the first cut  since July. The new set of 11v11 posts have been assembled and that has allowed us to move the main football pitch to avoid 40 years of goalmouth wear.

Due to demand, we now have a blue marked 9v9 pitch on the rugby pitch

Thanks to a Football Foundation grant, we have replaced the fixed 11v11 posts with portable goals to enable us to reconfigure pitches to mitigate goalmouth wear.

There has been a spate of vandalism and moving of goals. This affects several teams and ultimately will result in loss of fixtures. We know that certain groups of boys like to use the fields for unregulated kick-arounds  in the light evenings, but moving goals not only causes damage but means team managers have to replace goals before games. If you can’t hit a net don’t move the goal to use a hedge to collect the ball. Put the empty water bottles in the bins provided.

For those parents who  think otherwise: we are grateful to Wheatley Park School to be allowed to use the field behind the sports centre for weekend matches and the car park when needed. Unauthorised use and abuse of parking will ultimately lead to a loss of use of parking and the pitches.
